Homes in Granada Hills
Granada Hills is known for its mid-century ranch homes on generous lots, including the Eichler homes of Balboa Highlands. Many have original radiant floor heating, little or no attic space for ducts, and big backyards that are ready for a new patio.
Rebate angle
Eichlers and other flat-roof homes often have no room for ducts. Ductless or slim-ducted heat pumps add cooling and efficient heating without changing the look of the house.

Granada Hills is in the City of Los Angeles, so permits go through LADBS. In mid-century neighborhoods we also check whether exterior changes, like where equipment sits, have design rules to follow.
Granada Hills homes are on LADWP and SoCalGas, near the Aliso Canyon gas storage field. Moving off gas heat here is exactly what the TECH program funding was set aside for.
Flat roofs and exposed beams leave little room for ducts. We plan equipment and line routes so they stay discreet, and check any local design rules for Balboa Highlands.
Granada Hills and Porter Ranch were among the communities most affected by the 2015 Aliso Canyon gas leak. The program funding comes from that settlement.

Questions
Yes. Ductless mini-splits or slim ducted units are common choices. We place indoor units and line sets so they fit the architecture.
Yes. Porter Ranch (91326) is on the priority list as well, and we serve both communities.
Many people keep it as a backup and use the heat pump for cooling and most heating. We can also look at an air-to-water heat pump, which TECH also covers.
